It is my passion to develop people and to walk alongside them in achieving their potential. I started my career 30 years ago guiding and mentoring tertiary students, conducting talks and workshops, and did what I now know as lay-counselling. I found myself drawn to helping people understand themselves and helping them sort out personal, emotional, existential and relational issues. Since then I have become an an rounder professional counsellor who has vast experience with clients across all age groups with a wide variety of issues. In the past few years, working with children and parents has been one of my focus as the prognosis for the future is better when we can nip a problem in the bud.

I would like to see counselling service become something people can use without fear to help them become the best that they can be. I believe that counselling has a preventive and growth aspect. It is not merely for problem resolution and management. Developing healthy thinking and coping skills, learning to attend to emotions and the Self, and being self-aware and reflective are among factors that can lead to resilience and prevent mental illness. Counselling can help people become more aware, confident, accepting and free as persons, who can, therefore, make relationships work better, and hopefully, the world a better place.
