Board of Counsellors Malaysia (K.B.,P.A)
I am concerned that even as we make improvements in science and technology, with ever growing wealth, our private lives are not necessarily improving. The rules of modern living change too fast for us to keep up, and when we encounter personal problems, we are given simple cliches and rules of life: ‘think positively’, ‘be flexible’, ‘stop comparing’, ‘deal with it’, ‘take responsibility’, and ‘talk to your family’. They are not always wrong, but they often serve the cliche-dispensers more than us.
Through training as a counsellor, I learned that there is no one answer to the complexity of life’s challenges, and we can only live into the answers ourselves through authentic dialogue, keeping our perceptions open, and scientific trial-and-errors. I hope to facilitate that with you.
