Balqis Reffel, Clinical Psychologist
MAHPC(CP) 000672
My journey into psychology was shaped not by having everything figured out, but by moments of confusion, emotional weight, and the quiet questions that linger when life does not unfold as expected. Along the way, I learned that understanding ourselves is rarely linear. It requires patience, honesty, and the courage to sit with what feels uncomfortable rather than rushing to fix it.
Through my personal and professional experiences, I have come to appreciate how deeply our thoughts, emotions, and past experiences influence the way we relate to ourselves and the world. I have witnessed how unaddressed patterns can quietly shape our choices and how awareness, when nurtured in a safe space, can open the door to meaningful change.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I view therapy as a space to pause, reflect, and understand what has been carried for too long. My work is grounded in evidence-based practice, while remaining compassionate, collaborative, and attuned to each individual’s unique pace and story.
I aim to support clients in building emotional insight, resilience, and a stronger connection with themselves. Change does not happen overnight, but with the right support, clarity and growth become possible. Therapy, to me, is a place where healing begins with being seen, heard, and understood.
My primary therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) tailored to each client’s individual needs and goals.
